The 2014-2015 Season

DOCTOR FAUSTUS by Christopher Marlowe
October 23 – November 23
Thursday – Sunday, $20 – $25

Shakespeare isn’t the only playwright with a 450th birthday this year! Christopher Marlowe died under mysterious circumstances at just 29 years old. But he left behind a handful of great plays that changed the course of English theater. Doctor Faustustells the tale of a man who sells his soul to the devil and spends the next 25 years getting everything his heart desires…only to find it wasn’t what he wanted after all. It’s a sexy, scary, funny play whose cast of characters include Mephistopheles, Lucifer, the Seven Deadly Sins, Helen of Troy, and the Pope. This production may not be suitable for younger viewers.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL WITH CHARLES DICKENS
December 6 – December 21
Performance days vary. $20 – $25

Our holiday tradition! Charles Dickens was famous in his lifetime for his thrilling solo performances of his own work. Join ISC as we re-create (with more than a little artistic license) the experience of the author enacting A Christmas Carol. Joined by a young American actress, Mr. Dickens conjures a night of ghosts, romance and redemption. Featuring David Melville as Charles Dickens. The text is based on Charles Dickens’ own adaptation. Performances this year are extremely limited, so please book early.

RED BARN an ISC original musical
February 27 – April 5
Thursday – Sunday, $30 – $35

We’re transforming the Studio to a Victorian circus tent for this re-worked version ofRed Barn, which we presented as a sold-out workshop production in 2012. Based on a true story of a horrifying murder in a quiet English village, it proves that fact is indeed stranger than fiction. Expanded with new music and scenes, it’s written by David Melville & Melissa Chalsma. Experience the music here. Absolutely not suitable for young children.

JULIUS CAESAR by William Shakespeare
April 24 – May 31
Thursday – Sunday, $20 – $25

Power. Conspiracy. Retribution. Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar is a sweeping examination of the darker facets of human interaction. Set in the turbulent times of Ancient Rome, it’s both majestic in scope and intensely intimate. This production will explore our own assumptions about authority as women take on all the leading roles.
